Description:
AOS (Alpha-Olefin sulfonate) has good comprehensive properties. The process is mature, the quality is reliable, and the detergency is very good, especially in hard water, the detergency is basically not reduced. AOS has good biodegradability and has been mass-produced and used in Japan, South Korea, India, the United States and other places. In our country, it is developing its application in the fields of oilfield additives, starch processing aids, acrylic ester emulsion polymerization, cotton mercerizing, wool washing, wetting agents for textiles and papermaking. It is expected that in the near future, AOS will become the main synthetic detergent raw material of the new generation, and will be widely used in household and industrial detergents.
The mildness of AOS is comparable to AES, while LAS and AS are much more irritating than AOS. Therefore, AOS has a wide range of uses in personal care products. AOS is extremely stable under acidic conditions. Normal human skin is weakly acidic (pH value is about 5.5), and it is suitable to use AOS as a component of personal washing products. The shampoo with AOS as the main active component has better foaming properties than K12. Rinso reported that the foam released by AOS is plump and creamy and has a soap-like sensation during washing. This characteristic fits the washing habits of Chinese people. Therefore, AOS can be used in personal care products such as body wash, hand sanitizer and facial cleanser.
Application:
AOS has a wide range of applications in textile printing and dyeing industry, petrochemicals, tertiary oil recovery, and industrial cleaning. AOS can be used as concrete density improver, foamed wallboard, and fire-fighting foaming agent. It can also be used as a pesticide emulsifier, wetting agent, etc.
